The Wavlink Extender Login and Wavlink Extender Setup processes are as simple as that. Although these processes do not require any technicians, users can do these themselves using a web browser on any device. But, users must know the essential points to perform these procedures.

Pre-requisites of Wavlink Extender Setup

Prior to initiating the processes, keep in mind a few things that you will require during the login and extender setup. Here is a list of these

  • A router with an internet connection.
  • Any device with a web browser.
  • The extender’s default web-management page address.
  • Moreover, the extender’s default IP address.

These are the only things that you will need in the extender login and setup. Now, let’s go to the login method.

Specification of LED Lights of Wavlink Extender

Power LED Light:

When you bond your Wavlink extender to the wall socket then the power LED light shows that your Wavlink device is in the working process. If the power LED light of the Wavlink extender turns solid it means that your extender is powered on.

Note: If the power LED light of the Wavlink extender does not blinks solid then it means your Wavlink extender does not properly link to the power outlet.

WPS LED Light

WPS led light starts blinking when the WPS connection is in working progress. When WPS led light glows solid it means the connection between the extender and router is successfully done.

Note: If WPS led light does not blink solid it means that the WPS function of a Wavlink extender is disabled.

Signal LED Light

If the signal Led light of the Wavlink WiFi extender turns solid blue then it means your Wavlink WiFi extender setup is successfully done and the placement of Wavlink WiFi extender is perfect. If you see a red led light on your Wavlink WiFi extender then it means your extender is so far away from the host router. So, locate your extender nearest to the router.

Wavlink Extender Setup For Different Models

Generally, there are three ways to configure the Wavlink Extender Setup for different models. These are web-based setup, WPS, and the manual method. Follow the instructions for separate models

Wavlink AC1200 Setup

First, fix the extender into the power plug. Then, open the web browser on your device. Search the extender’s default web or IP address and log in to the setup page. Go to the Setup option in advanced settings and insert the password for your existing network. Thus, the installation is complete.

 

Wavlink AC600 Setup

Initially, plug the extender into the power socket and press the extender’s WPS button. Next, push the WPS button of the router. Wait till the extender connects to the router. After this, visit the extender’s web-based setup page on your device. Now, configure the extender by selecting the Setup option.

 

Wavlink WN578X3 Setup

Plug the extender into the power outlet. Find the extender’s SSID network on your wireless device and connect to it. However, for a laptop or PC, you can use the LAN port of the extender. After connecting to the SSID, the login page will appear on the device. Do log in there and start the Setup Process.

  • The indoor range of the Wavlink AC600 extender is up to 130m.
  • The outdoor range of the Wavlink AC600 extender is up to 500m.
  • It also supports both frequency bands i.e., 2.4GHz and 5GHz
  • The AC600 extender also has a dual-band external antenna.
  • It supports the WPS function by which you can easily connect an extender to a router.

  • It also supports both frequency bands.
  • It has 4 external antennas.
  • Wavlink WN578X3 extender offers 1000Mbps speed to ethernet WAN port.
  • The total available bandwidth in this extender is 1167Mbps.

Note: It is not compulsory that you can only do the setup of Wavlink extender by only one method. Note that you can set up your Wavlink extender device also by different ways.

Wavlink Extender Setup to Router Via WPS

  • First of all, locate your WiFi extender in the power socket.
  • Now, push the WPS button of the Wavlink extender and hold that button for 2 to 3 seconds.
  • After that, inside in 2 minutes press the WPS button of router.
  • Further, wait for a few minutes to turn on all LED lights of an extender into solid blue.
  • As a result, with the help of this method your Wavlink WiFi extender setup is successfully finished.

Installation of Wavlink Extender to Router Via Web UI

  • First, you have to place the power plug of an extender in a wall socket.
  • Now, launch Web crawler and type wifi.wavlink.com in the address box.
  • After doing this log in to the installation page of the Wavlink extender.
  • Now, go to the configuration option in the advanced settings and fill in the security password of your existing WiFi network.
  • In the end, the configuration process of an extender to a router is successfully done.

Wavlink WiFi Extender Setup to Router Manually

  • First, plug an extender into the power socket which is closest to the modem or router.
  • After that, verify whether your device’s power LED light is blinking.
  • Thereafter, grab any WiFi device such as a mobile phone, computer, etc.
  • Now, go to the settings of the WiFi-enabled device and then click on the WiFi option.
  • Further to this, you can now see Wavlink_EXT on your display.
  • Link your WiFi gadget to the Wavlink_EXT network.
  • Now, open the web gateway on your WiFi gadget and enter ap.setup in the URL bar.
  • After that, you can see the new extender setup page on your display.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to bond your Wavlink extender to the router.

Facing Errors During Login Setup?

You might face some problems while doing the extender’s login. There may be any kind of reason behind the difficulties. Just look at some common reasons

  • The router’s internet connection is not working.
  • Damaged or broken Ethernet wire.
  • The extender’s incorrect web address.
  • Additionally, the extender’s IP address is mismatched.

Verify these points at least once before starting the login procedure. Make sure that your router’s internet connection is active. Use a new and working ethernet wire. The extender and router must be connected. In addition, use the extender’s correct web or IP address.

Not Able to Use Wavlink Extender Setup Properly?

In case you face any issues while using the extender, utilize certain troubleshooting ways to fix the errors

  • In the first place, verify the LED indication of the extender.
  • Check the connection between the extender and router.
  • Place the extender near the router to get strong signals.
  • Unplug the extender from the power outlet and plug it in again.
  • More than that, keep the extender away from other devices.
  • If the extender is still not working, then opt for the reset function.
  • Press the extender’s reset button for ten seconds and wait for a few minutes.
  • After resetting the extender, do the installation again.

Upgrade Software Via Wavlink Extender Login

After trying the above troubleshooting method if you are still facing an issue then we suggest you update the firmware of your extender. If you don’t know how to upgrade the software of the Wavlink extender then just follow these below few steps.

  • First of all, you have to turn on your Wavlink WiFi extender.
  • Now, grab any WiFi gadget.
  • After that, go to the Wavlink extender login portal.
  • Now, you will be in settings and tap on the ‘administration’ option.
  • Further click on the software upgrade option.
  • Consider all the on-screen instructions to complete this upgrade process of the firmware.
  • As a result, with the help of the following instructions, you may update the latest firmware on the Wavlink extender.

Power Cycle Wavlink Extender (Power On/Off Wavlink Extender)

If you fail after trying the above method then you can also try the next one. It is a very simple or easiest method to solve the issue of the Wavlink extender. Consider these steps.

  • First, power off your Wavlink WiFi extender and wait for at least 1 minute.
  • Now, switch on your extender.
  • Lastly, wait for an extender to complete booting up.

Link Extender To Router Via Ethernet Cable

This method is not so technical but also not so easiest. Consider the below steps to do this method.

Note: Make sure that your WiFi gadget (computer) must be connected to the router through an ethernet cable and that it can remain in that location.

  • Take one end of an ethernet cable and join it with the extender ethernet port.
  • Now, place your Wavlink WFi extender in a wall socket.
  • Further, link another end of an ethernet cable to the router port.
  • Now, wait for a few minutes to illuminate the LED light of an extender and router into solid blue.

Change WiFi Channels of Router

After trying these additional three methods, if you are still facing an issue with the Wavlink extender setup, don’t worry. If you have a dual-band WiFi router then you can easily change the WiFi channels of the Wavlink router.

Many routers have several types of WiFi channels that are available for signal re-broadcasting. Replace the WiFi channel if one is inferring with another one. Just follow these few steps to do this method.

  • First, launch a browser and go to the address box.
  • After that, enter Wavlink extender login.
  • This IP address will help you to go directly to the login page of the router configuration from there you can do any type of change such as the security password, network name, WiFi encryption settings, etc.

Reset Wavlink WiFi Extender

After trying all the additional solutions, if you are still facing an issue with the Wavlink WiFi extender then you can try this last method.

  • First, you have to take a paper clip that looks just like a needle.
  • Locate the reset hole button which is mainly located at the back side of an extender.
  • Press that reset hole button with a paperclip for 8 to 10 seconds.
  • Make sure not to press paper clip so much with pressure otherwise it may cause harm to your device.
  • After doing this, you can see all the LED light of an extender is now turned off, which means your Wavlink WiFi extender reset successfully.

Note: After resetting you will require to do the Wavlink extender setup again.
